A friend of mine told me about the Beyond Bread gluten free bakery a while back when they were first opening up. Being based in Manchester I was quite jealous that a completely gluten-free bakery was opening up in London, nevertheless I added it to my list of places to visit.
I found myself in London for the first time in a while last weekend so I just had to pop in. I was instantly blown away by the spread they had on offer:
Just look at all that food! Not just pastries, muffins and cakes, but a whole range of sandwiches too; all completely gluten-free! I actually had to double check everything was actually gluten-free because it all looked so good.
After much deliberation (seriously I wanted to eat everything in there) I opted for "The beefeater" sandwich: Roast beef, black olive tapenade, sun dried tomatoes, and rocket. all on a toasted gluten-free roll.
I demolished it.
It's perhaps one of the nicest sandwiches I've had from anywhere, the gluten-free bread was excellent, and the filling was just melt in the mouth. Excellent option all round.
If you're in London and in need of some gluten-free food then Beyond Bread should definitely be on your list.
